How to get to Naya
Great, you decided to visit us! If you follow these directions you will easily find your way.
..from Atatürk airport (European side)
- Take metro M1 to Zeytinburnu - cost 2 TL
- Take tram T1 from Zeytinburnu to Kabataş (last stop) - cost 2TL
- Walk to ferry terminal Adalar ("islands") across tram stop
- Take ferry from Kabataş to Büyükada - cost 3 to 5 TL, duration between 30 min and 1.5h, depending on ferry
There are 2 ferry companies serving the Kabataş-Büyükada route. Şehir Hatları (Istanbul City Lines) classic ferries run roughly every 2 hours between 7am and 11pm (see the off-season timetable). Mavi Marmara's modern ferries operate between 9:30am and 6pm from another terminal behind the petrol station at Kabataş and cost 5 TL.
During the summer also fast ferries are in operation. See the IDO website for details.
..from Sabiha Gökçen airport (Asian side)
- Take bus E9 to Bostancı (last stop) from outside the airport - cost: 5 TL, leaving every full hour between 7am and 11pm
- Walk to ferry terminal just across the bus stop
- Take ferry from Bostancı to Büyükada - cost: 3 TL, duration between 30 and 60 min, depending on route
Ferries run about every 30 min between 7:30am and midnight.
Sea Taxi
If you are in for a treat or arriving at an exotic time, take a Deniz Taksi to the island. It holds up to 10 passengers and costs between 70 TL (Kartal, near Sabiha Gökçen aiport) and 220 TL (Bakırköy, near Atatürk airport). Simply call +90 (212) 44 444 98, hop on and tell the driver to "follow that boat over there". ;)
On the island
Naya is about 2 km away from the port. It's a 25 minutes walk and it takes 10 minutes by bicycle. See this map with directions. However, with luggage you probably want to take one of the romantic horse-drawn carriages.
Horse-drawn carriage to Naya
When outside the ferry terminal walk up to the "horse square" left of the clock tower. Ask the driver to get you to "Maden". Our address is Yılmaz Türk Caddesi 96, but the drivers will know "Naya" as well.
The fixed price from the port to Naya is 12 TL. If you have over-sized luggage an additional 3 TL will be charged. Please note: The cheeky drivers are notoriously short with change and quickly run out of ideas if you present them with a bigger banknote. ;) So make sure to have the exact fare with you before you get on.
